My Recipe Universe Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the My Recipe Universe web application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. The Service is not intended for children or anyone who is not legally permitted to use online services or enter into payment agreements.

2. Description of the Service

My Recipe Universe provides tools that may allow you to:

• Generate recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists using artificial intelligence.
• Save favorite recipes.
• Create household dietary profiles.
• View search history.
• Rate recipes.
• Share recipes through public links.
• Export recipes as images or PDF files.
• Access paid features through the Recipe Universe+ subscription.

The Service may include free and paid features. We may add, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, subject to applicable law.

3. Account Registration and Responsibility

To use certain features, you must create an account using an email address and password or an eligible Google sign-in account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• Keep your account information up to date.
• Protect your password and account credentials.
• Not share your account with others unless expressly permitted by us.
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for activity occurring through your account.

You may not create an account for another person without authorization, impersonate another person, or use an email address or identity that you do not have the right to use.

You are responsible for having the equipment, internet connection, and software necessary to access the Service.

4. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence and large language models to generate recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, nutrition information, allergen labels, and related content (“AI Content”).

AI Content may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, unsuitable, or inaccurate. In particular:

• Ingredients, measurements, cooking times, temperatures, instructions, nutrition information, and serving sizes may be incorrect.
• Allergen labels may fail to identify an allergen or may incorrectly identify one.
• AI Content may not account for cross-contamination, brand-specific ingredients, preparation methods, regional differences, or individual health conditions.
• AI Content is not medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional advice.
• AI Content may be similar to content generated for other users.

You must independently review and verify all AI Content before relying on it. You are solely responsible for determining whether a recipe or meal plan is suitable for you and anyone who may consume it.

5. Food Safety, Allergies, and Health Responsibility

You are solely responsible for food safety and for deciding whether to prepare, serve, or consume any recipe or ingredient.

Before using or consuming a recipe, you must:

• Check every ingredient and label, including for hidden or derivative ingredients.
• Confirm allergen information with manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, or other reliable sources.
• Account for allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, dietary restrictions, pregnancy, age, and other health considerations.
• Follow appropriate food handling, storage, cooking, reheating, and temperature-safety practices.
• Verify current nutrition and health information with a qualified professional when appropriate.

Do not rely on the Service for emergency, medical, or life-threatening dietary decisions. If you or another person has a serious allergy or medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional and use authoritative sources.

My Recipe Universe does not guarantee that any recipe, label, nutrition estimate, or recommendation is safe, accurate, complete, or suitable for any person.

6. Subscription and Billing

6.1 Recipe Universe+

My Recipe Universe may offer a paid subscription called “Recipe Universe+.” Subscription benefits may include unlimited recipe searches, meal plans, or other features described in the Service.

Free users may be subject to limits, including:

• Up to 5 recipe searches per week.
• Up to 5 meal plans per week.
• Up to 3 fridge or dish photo scans per week.

Visitors without an account may be limited to 3 recipe searches per week.

Usage is tracked by user account on a weekly basis. We may change usage limits, subscription benefits, pricing, or plan features as permitted by law.

6.2 Stripe Payments

Payments and subscription management are processed by Stripe or another payment service provider. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method for applicable fees, taxes, and recurring subscription charges.

Your payment may also be subject to Stripe’s terms and privacy practices. We do not store complete payment card information on our own systems unless expressly stated otherwise.

6.3 Auto-Renewal

Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, your Recipe Universe+ subscription will automatically renew for the same subscription period. Your payment method will be charged the applicable renewal price, plus any applicable taxes or fees.

You authorize recurring charges until you cancel the subscription.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription through the subscription-management tools provided by Stripe or within your account settings, if available. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and you may continue to use paid features until then.

Unless required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise:

• Subscription fees are non-refundable.
• We do not provide partial-period refunds or credits.
• Deleting your account may not automatically cancel a subscription, so you should separately confirm cancellation through the applicable billing tools.

6.5 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices or billing terms. If required by law, we will provide advance notice of material changes. Your continued use of Recipe Universe+ after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price, unless you cancel the subscription.

7. User Content and Public Sharing

You may submit information, ratings, preferences, dietary profiles, feedback, and other content through the Service (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of User Content that you own. By submitting User Content, you grant My Recipe Universe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, modify as technically necessary, display, and use that content to operate, maintain, improve, and provide the Service.

If you share a recipe through a public link or another public feature:

• The shared content may be viewable by anyone with access to the link.
• You should not include private, sensitive, or confidential information.
• You are responsible for ensuring that sharing the content does not violate anyone’s rights or applicable law.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit and share your User Content.

8. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms.

You must not:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
• Use the Service to harm, threaten, harass, defame, abuse, or impersonate another person.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service.
• Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Use bots, scripts, scraping tools, or automated systems to access or abuse the Service, except as expressly authorized.
• Circumvent usage limits, subscription controls, security measures, or access restrictions.
• Use the Service to develop, train, or improve a competing service without permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code of the Service, except where prohibited by law.
• Submit content that is unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, or otherwise abusive.
• Upload personal information about another person without authorization.
• Use AI Content in a way that creates a false impression that it was written or verified by a qualified professional.
• Rely on the Service for medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency response, or life-critical decisions.

We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including limiting access, removing content, or terminating accounts.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, graphics, interfaces, text, features, and underlying technology, is owned by or licensed to My Recipe Universe and is protected by intellectual-property and other applicable laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may save, share, and export recipes generated through the Service for personal use, subject to these Terms and applicable law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, modify, or exploit the Service itself or our trademarks without prior written permission.

You may provide feedback about the Service. You grant us the right to use feedback without restriction or compensation, including to improve and develop the Service.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may use or link to third-party services, including Google sign-in, Stripe, AI providers, hosting providers, and export or storage tools.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, security, content, or practices.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are described in the My Recipe Universe Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that information may be processed as described in that policy, including information associated with your account, usage counts, search history, dietary profiles, subscription status, and User Content.

You should not submit sensitive health, medical, financial, or other confidential information unless the Service specifically requests and is designed to handle it.

12. Disclaimers of Warranty

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, INCLUDING AI CONTENT, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

MY RECIPE UNIVERSE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF:

• MERCHANTABILITY;
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE;
• TITLE;
• NON-INFRINGEMENT;
• ACCURACY;
• RELIABILITY;
• AVAILABILITY;
• SECURITY; AND
• THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL CODE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RECIPES, MEAL PLANS, SHOPPING LISTS, NUTRITION INFORMATION, ALLERGEN LABELS, OR OTHER CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, SAFE, CURRENT, OR SUITABLE FOR YOU.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MY RECIPE UNIVERSE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO:

• YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE;
• AI CONTENT OR YOUR RELIANCE ON IT;
• FOOD ALLERGIES, ILLNESS, INJURY, OR FOOD-SAFETY ISSUES;
• ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR INACCURACIES;
• ACCOUNT SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION;
• THIRD-PARTY SERVICES;
• UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS or security incidents; or
• ANY OTHER MATTER RELATED TO THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF MY RECIPE UNIVERSE FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

• THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MY RECIPE UNIVERSE FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR
• ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (US $100).

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if we were advised that damages were possible. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

14. Indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless My Recipe Universe and its owners, operators, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, service providers, and licensors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:

• Your use or misuse of the Service.
• Your User Content.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of applicable law or a third party’s rights.
• Your reliance on AI Content or failure to verify food-safety or allergen information.

15. Termination and Suspension

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy or through available account tools.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms.
• You engage in fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity.
• Your use creates risk or potential legal exposure for us or others.
• We are required to do so by law.
• We discontinue all or part of the Service.
• You fail to pay applicable subscription fees.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will end. We may delete or retain account information and User Content as described in our Privacy Policy and as required by law.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute-related obligations.

16. Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We are not responsible for any loss resulting from changes to or discontinuation of features, content, accounts, or the Service, except as required by law.

We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service without notice when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or abuse prevention.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be made available through the Service. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means that you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, unless applicable law requires another forum or the parties agree otherwise.

19. General Terms

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or operation of law.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for particular features, constitute the entire agreement between you and My Recipe Universe concerning the Service.
